Andrea is a cardigan designed by Andrea Mowry using Corrie Worsted and featured in the book Worsted, A Knitwear Collection Curated by Aimée Gille of La Bien Aimée. Like all of Andrea's patterns, this is a timeless garment, the kind of light jacket you can throw on over a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, or dressed up over a cute dress.
Inspired by the shape of Andrea's Winter's Beach pattern, the Andrea cardigan has swingy sides that feature a beautiful diamond cable pattern with her signature nupps! The drop shoulder shape is easy to knit and wear. And guess what? Your swatch turns into the pocket lining! So there's no excuse not to swatch, right?
Here is what Andrea wrote as her inspiration for this design:
“Standing in my closet is often where I am inspired for a new sweater design. I am always on the quest to knit up my perfect cardigan that goes with all of my dresses and tunics, filling in the gaps of my wardrobe. Finding that perfect length, with a fit that is easy to pull on and of course -pockets! This cardigan is worn open and is engaging to knit with small cable twists and bobbles that dress it up just enough!”
