Shipping to the US

Shipping to the United States now requires Duty and Tax payment

We understand that it can come as a surprise to receive a request for Duty and Tax, especially if you haven’t encountered this before. Until recently, customers in the United States could order goods valued under $800 USD without paying import tax, since VAT was already excluded at checkout. Unfortunately, this has now changed.

As of September 1, 2025, all shipments entering the United States—no matter their dollar value—are subject to Duty and Tax (tariffs), as well as a brokerage fee charged by UPS for processing these payments on your behalf. These charges will be collected by UPS, either before or at the time of delivery.

Please note:
These costs are not set by La Bien Aimée, and unfortunately, we cannot provide an exact quote for tariffs in advance.

Tariffs and brokerage fees are not included in your shipping charges. They are collected once your parcel arrives in the United States:

  • Duty and Tax are collected directly by the U.S. Government.
  • Brokerage fees are retained by UPS for handling customs clearance.

These additional charges are the result of U.S. import tariffs applied to our products. La Bien Aimée only charges you for the product(s) you purchase and the shipping cost from our Paris Atelier to your address. We do not collect Duty or Tax on your order.

If you have already placed an order and receive an email from UPS requesting payment of Duty and Tax, this is likely a legitimate message. You will also have received a shipping confirmation email directly from La Bien Aimée containing your tracking number. We encourage you to cross-check that tracking number with the email from UPS before clicking on any links.

If you suspect the email may be fraudulent, please consult UPS’s guidance on identifying fraudulent communications: UPS Information on Fraudulent Communications.

At this time, we are only able to ship to the United States via United Parcel Service (UPS).
