Rococo by Sari Nordlund
Sari Nordlund is releasing Rococo, a new sweater pattern she has designed using La Bien Aimée Corrie Worsted. A delicate lace yoke and a flattering shape really show off how soft and defined this new yarn can be.
We asked Sari to tell us about her inspiration for this design, as well as what she thought about the yarn. Here is what she had to say:
I had originally planned to make a colorwork yoke pullover, but as soon as I got my hands on the yarn, I knew it wanted to be something else. I think the new Corrie Worsted works beautifully for lace and cables, so I wanted to do something with interesting texture. I love Japanese lace so I started to play around with different lace patterns. My inspiration for this pullover were the slightly irregular and curvy carvings from the Rococo era, and the wrapped stitches remind me of the seashells typical for Rococo style. That’s how the design got it’s name :)
I absolutely love the yarn. I have been a fan of La Bien Aimée for such a long time, so I was really honoured to collaborate with you! I have always loved woolly and rustic yarns, so this is definitely one of my new favourites! It was really nice to knit with and it is super soft and has a beautiful sheen to it. Some of my test knitters used the yarn for their pullovers and they too sent me messages telling me how much they loved the yarn!
Thank you so much Sari for collaborating with La Bien Aimée for the release of Corrie Worsted!
The pattern for Rococo can be purchased here. Corrie Worsted will be available starting June 21st at 4pm Paris time here.
