Summer Sweater KAL

Summer Sweater KAL

For a few years now, La Bien Aimée has organised a Sweater KAL in the summer, because what better time to knit yourself a sweater and be ready for fall? The La Bien Aimée Summer Sweater KAL is on!

Even though our Comfort Fade KAL recently ended, I have to admit, I still have half of my second sleeve left to knit... So I'm going to try to finish it as quickly as I can, because I just need to cast on all the things! For this new KAL, I would like to challenge myself to knit 2 or 3 sweaters if I can. As a polygamous knitter, it usually takes me MONTHS to finish a sweater, as I constantly have multiple projects on the needles at once. But this time, I would like to be monogamous, for the summer at least! And then we'll see...

Ever since our new base, Corrie Worsted, was released, I've been dying to start a sweater in it. When Jonna Hietala published her pattern for Piilo, I knew straight away which colors I would use for mine: Lise and Bone! Aimee used her knitting machine to knit up lots of striped swatches to show off all the different combinations you can make with Corrie Worsted. Above is a picture of the swatch with my skeins. Isn't it gorgeous?

After Piilo, I want to knit Lento, another pattern by Jonna Hietala of Laine Magazine! I'm doing the summer of Jonna! Lento is a simple raglan sweater knit at a loose gauge using Merino Singles and Kumo held together. I don't have a Kumo sweater yet, so this is the perfect project for me. I'm going to use my favorite LBA color for this one: Sari. It is a deep fuschia pink that just brings joy to my heart. It's a bright and happy color, perfection!

Would you like to join us here at La Bien Aimée and knit a sweater (or two, or three) with us this summer? If so, please share your knits on our Ravelry group and Instagram using #summersweaterKAL2021 so we can find you! And we'll share our progress with you too.
