Cohana Leather Tape Measure
La Bien Aimée provides even more measuring tape choices with this Cohana leather tape measure, dyed using the traditional Japanese Yuzen technique.
This 17th century Japanese dyeing technique traditionally used rice paste stencils to produce kimonos that look hand painted. Here, it has been used to dye the finest quality leather in a pattern evocative of a floral springtime in Japan.
The fiberglass tape, which measures 150cm, can be extended by pulling, and retracted by pressing on the sides of the leather case. The technical mechanism encased in this hand-sewn leather casing is produced by Hara Doki, a Japanese tool manufacturer which has been producing high quality measuring tools for more than a century.
The case of this tape measure has a diameter of 6.5cm, and a width of 1.5cm, and is available in four colours: grey, pink, blue, and yellow.
