Our Éphémère skeins are one-of-a-kind variations of the LBA colorways you already know and love. They might be a touch lighter, slightly moodier, or have an unexpected shift in tone—but that’s exactly what makes them special.

These skeins are part of our commitment to reducing waste and celebrating the creative, imperfect nature of the dyeing process. Each Éphémère skein is unrepeatable—once it’s gone, it’s gone. Helix is a light and lofty yarn base, exclusively spun for La Bien Aimée. This non superwash, light fingering weight yarn combines high-quality Falkland Merino with the unique Gotland wool fiber. Gotland wool is known for its wonderful luster and slight halo, making it reminiscent of mohair. This light-grey fiber mixed with the bright white merino gives the Helix yarn an incredible sheen and depth of color not possible on our other yarn bases.

Designed to be held double either with itself or with our bases Mohair Silk or Kumo, Helix presents infinite color possibilities. If doubling Helix together, try two strands of the same color for a rich semi-solid, sport-weight yarn, or hold two different colors together for an original marled effect. Helix held together with Mohair Silk or Kumo results is a light and delicate fabric with a lovely drape and fluffy halo.

Ces écheveaux s’inscrivent dans notre démarche de réduction du gaspillage et de célébration du caractère créatif (et parfois imparfait) de la teinture artisanale. Chaque écheveau Éphémère est impossible à reproduire — une fois parti, il ne reviendra pas. Que vous tricotiez un projet complet ou que vous l’ajoutiez à votre palette, vous offrez une seconde vie à une laine vraiment unique.

Voici Helix, notre nouvelle base au rendu léger, aérien et duveteux, exclusivement filée pour La Bien Aimée. Ce fil “non-superwash”, "light fingering” est composé d'un mélange haut de gamme de mérinos Falkland et de laine Gotland. La laine Gotland est réputée pour son si joli lustre et son léger halo qui rappelle le mohair wool. Cette fibre gris clair, combinée au mérino blanc, apporte à la Helix une luminosité et une profondeur de couleur uniques, qui n'existe sur aucune de nos autres bases.

La Helix est conçue pour être tricotée en fil double, soit double Helix, soit Helix + Mohair ou encore Helix + Kumo. Les possibilités de couleurs sont infinies. Si vous tricotez la Helix en double (épaisseur "sport"), vous pouvez soit utiliser 2 fils de la même teinte pour obtenir une couleur profonde, soit utiliser un fil de Helix et 1 fil de Kumo ou Mohair pour un joli effet chiné. Le tricot obtenu avec un fil de Helix et un fil de Kumo ou mohair a un rendu aérien et duveteux, et a un joli drapé.
