Itty Bitty Berry Colorwork Sock Workshop with Charlotte Stone

Join Charlotte Stone, the designer behind Stone Knits, for a focused workshop dedicated to stranded colorwork socks, using her much-loved Itty Bitty Berry pattern. This class is designed to help you build confidence knitting colorwork socks that are both beautiful and well fitting.

Working on the colorwork section of the Itty Bitty Berry socks, you’ll learn how to read and knit from colorwork charts, manage tension and long floats, knit up to three colors in one round, and correct mistakes along the way. Charlotte will demonstrate techniques in both English and Continental styles, share tips for achieving the right gauge and stretch over the heel, and cover finishing details such as duplicate stitch and weaving in ends neatly.

Knowledge required: Basic Knowlege of plain sock knitting
Duration: 3 hours
Language: English with French translation

Homework: A few weeks before the course, an email will be sent with details of the size, gauge and instructions for knitting the ribbing of the first sock so that we can start the colourwork section together.

Materials to bring:
  • Fingering weight sock yarn to knit the Itty Betty Berry socks
  • Circular knitting needles - magic loop, dpns or 9 inch circulars for knitting socks.
  • Stitch markers

About the instructor:

Charlotte Stone is an internationally recognized knitwear designer known for her joyful, whimsical colorwork socks. Designing since 2017, she has published numerous patterns and is the author of the bestselling books Charming Colorwork Socks (2022) and Joyful Colorwork Socks (2024), both translated into multiple languages. Based near Zürich, Charlotte has been teaching colorwork sock workshops across Europe since 2019 and shares her expertise through online classes and tutorials followed by thousands of knitters worldwide.

Atelier chaussettes en jacquard Itty Bitty Berry avec Charlotte Stone

Participez à cet atelier avec Charlotte Stone, créatrice de Stone Knits, pour apprendre à tricoter des chaussettes en jacquard à partir de son modèle Itty Bitty Berry. Ce cours vous aidera à gagner en confiance pour réaliser des chaussettes colorées, bien ajustées et durables.

Vous travaillerez la partie jacquard du modèle et aborderez la lecture de grilles, la gestion de la tension et des flottés, le tricot jusqu’à trois couleurs sur un même rang, ainsi que les finitions (duplicate stitch et rentrage des fils). Les techniques seront expliquées en méthodes anglaise et continentale.

Connaissances requises : bases du tricot de chaussettes
Durée : 3 heures
Langue : Anglais avec traduction en français

Devoir :
Quelques semaines avant le cours, un e-mail sera envoyé avec les détails concernant la taille, l’échantillon et les instructions pour tricoter la bordure côtelée de la première chaussette afin que nous puissions commencer ensemble la partie en jacquard (colourwork).

  • Fil à chaussettes (fingering weight) 

  • Aiguilles circulaires – méthode magic loop, aiguilles double pointe (DPN) ou circulaires de 9 pouces pour tricoter des chaussettes

  • Marqueurs de mailles

Charlotte Stone est une créatrice de tricot de renommée internationale, connue pour ses chaussettes en jacquard pleines de fantaisie et de couleurs joyeuses. Elle conçoit des modèles depuis 2017 et a publié de nombreux patrons. Basée près de Zurich, Charlotte anime des ateliers consacrés aux chaussettes en jacquard à travers l’Europe depuis 2019 et partage également son expertise via des cours et tutoriels en ligne suivis par des milliers de tricoteuses et tricoteurs dans le monde entier.
