La Bien Aimée is thrilled to announce this really fun collaboration with Adella of LolaBean Yarn Co. and Shay Johnson, the designer also known as Knit and Croshay. Aimee and Adella are friends and have wanted to work together for a long time. When the idea of a collaboration between two hand dyers came about, they reached out to Shay, a designer they both admire.
Shay had this idea of a 1970s inspired shawl knit in a sideways construction, with an unique, geometric shape. Named after her grandfather, the Winston shawl features mosaic colorwork in high contrast colors. It has two size options: the small size requires only two skeins, one of each color, and the large size that calls for two skeins of each color.
Each yarn dyer invented a tonal color and a speckled color, based on the moodboard sent by Shay which showed an explosion of bright colors on a dark and moody background. Adella and Aimee decided to use one of Lolabean's Fingering weight bases containing a blend of Merino and Silk, which is soft and shiny.
We are offering kits for the small size. If you would like to knit the large size, simply add 2 bundles to your cart! The pattern is available on Ravelry here (add link).
