Come and meet Siena & Jasper at our February Virtual Knitting Circle!
Here at La Bien Aimée, we have long been fans of Tracie and Jodi of the Grocery Girls podcast. These two ladies have been bringing so much joy to the knitting community for the last five years. To honor their contribution to the knitting world, we wanted to create a personalised color for each of them and asked them to send us a mood board as a point of departure.
When Tracie sent her mood board, Aimée saw straight away what this color should look like, and after a couple of sessions in the dye studio, Tracie's color was born. With its terracotta tones and warm pink, this rosewood color is a testament to Tracie's love of Italy.
Jodi's mood board tilted more towards a mix of cool greens and greys with some pops of color. Because of the subtlety of her choices, the color didn't reveal itself to us as easily as Tracie's. After a few thrilling sessions in the dye studio, the color emerged in the pots and we could not be more pleased with the result.
Then came the time to choose names for them. For Tracie, it had to be reminiscent of her travels to Italy, and she chose Siena. Jodi's color felt much closer to home and was named after the misty greens of the Jasper National Park, where she enjoys going on walks with her family.

As soon as these colorways were finalised, we knew that they would fold beautifully into our family of colors and it was easy to imagine how to incorporate them into some of our fades. Aimée created a companion color called Mount Kitchner. A complex, muli-layered brown that marries perfectly with Siena and Jasper.
Our new colors, Jasper, Siena and Mount Kitchener will be going live on our website on March 12th at noon (Paris time). We will be offering these three colors on Merino Singles, Merino Super Sock, Merino Sport, Merino DK, Merino Aran, Mohair Silk and Kumo. Please note that this will be the first of many offerings of these color-ways. They are now part of our repertoire of repeatable colors.
