Videira - Aimée's cropped version

Videira - Aimée's cropped version

I knew straight away that I needed a Videira by Maysa Tomikawa of my own, so I made one in my favorite colors: yellow and pink! For my version, I used Twist Nouveau, Mohair Silk and Helix from La Bien Aimée in colors Yellow Brick Road, Peach Sweater and Fluoro Morganite. Holding those three strands means that you can marl and fade different colors in the special sections of Videira. It creates the coolest effect!

Videira also offers three different body lengths. I chose to knit mine in the first length to make it cropped! I knit a size 3. In order to knit the cropped length, Maysa says you will need 90% of the recommended yardage. The yardage given in the pattern is enough to knit the third length / full length of Videira. So that should help you calculate how much yarn you will need to knit a cropped version like mine!

Yarn needed to knit the full length:

Yarn A - Helix by La Bien Aimée (75% Falkland Merino, 25% Gotland wool, 710 yds / 650 m – 100 g).
C1: 1 (1, 1, 1) (1, 1, 2) skeins, colorway Yellow Brick Road
C2: 1 (1, 1, 1) (1, 1, 2) skeins, colorway Peach Sweater
C3: 1 (1, 1, 2) (2, 2, 2) skeins, colorway Fluoro Morganite

Yarn B - Twist Nouveau by La Bien Aimée (100% non-superwash Merino, 437 yds / 400 m - 100 g).
C1: 2 (2, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2) skeins, colorway Yellow Brick Road
C2: 1 (1, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2) skeins, colorway Peach Sweater
C3: 2 (2, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2) skeins, colorway Fluoro Morganite

Yarn C - Mohair Silk by La Bien Aimée (70% mohair, 30% mulberry silk, 546 yds / 500 m – 50 g).
C1: 2 (2, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2) skeins, colorway Yellow Brick Road
C2: 1 (1, 1, 1) (1, 2, 2) skeins, colorway Peach Sweater
C3: 1 (1, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2) skeins, colorway Fluoro Morganite

Plus for the optional hood and pockets, additional skeins required:
Yarn A - 1 (1, 1, 0) (0, 0, 0) skeins, colorway Fluoro Morganite
Yarn B - 1 (1, 1, 1) (1, 1, 1) skeins, colorway Fluoro Morganite
Yarn C - 1 (1, 0, 0) (0, 0, 1) skeins, colorway Fluoro Morganite
