In this intermediate-level class, you’ll learn how traditional weave structures can be reimagined as knitted stitch patterns with a strong background surface.
Through hands-on practice, Nancy will guide you through stranded and intarsia techniques, color placement, chart reading, and the fundamentals of designing your own woven knitting projects. This class is perfect for knitters who enjoy texture, color, and thoughtful construction, and who are ready to expand their technical skills.

About the instructor: Nancy Marchant—often called theQueen Mother of Brioche—has been shaping the world of knitting for decades. Born in Indiana and based in the Netherlands for over 45 years, she published her first pattern in 1974 and has authored numerous influential books, includingKnitting Brioche,Tuck Stitches, andWoven Knitting. Known for her deep exploration of brioche and tuck stitches, Nancy has recently turned her attention to woven structures created through stranded and intarsia knitting, bringing a fresh and innovative perspective to modern knitwear.

Woven Knitting - Tricot tissé

Découvrez le woven knitting avec Nancy Marchant lors de cet atelier de niveau intermédiaire, consacré à la création de motifs tricotés inspirés des structures du tissage. Vous apprendrez à transformer différentes armures en points de tricot avec un fond structuré, en combinant jacquard et intarsia.
Le cours abordera le placement des couleurs, la lecture de grilles et les bases de la conception de motifs, pour vous permettre d’appliquer ces techniques à vos propres projets.
Niveau : Intermédiaire (bases du tricot requises) Durée : 3 heures Langue: anglais avec traduction en français
