I had wanted to knit a cable knit sweater for a long time and was looking to take a traditional form and modernize it with an unorthodox colorway. The challenge was to find a yarn with a lot of personality but that still allowed for the definition of the cable design to shine through. When I saw LBA's Le Littoral in DK, I knew it I had found my sweater's colorway!
At its heart, Kitsune No Omoi (Foxthoughts) is a simple yoked jumper. There’s some tidy finishing, and some definitely fun steeking action in the cardigan version, but like all colourwork knitting, really the dazzle comes from the palette. Therein lies it’s strength and the difficulty. Because of how the colour transitions are made in this jumper, it can look intimidating.
